Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Setbaker is a small, personal project that hand-curates music setlists (playlists) tailored to the moment you describe. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2. Data we collect

  • Order details you submit: your email, the recipient name/nickname, your description of the moment, an optional reference photo, and your mood/genre/tempo preferences.
  • Spotify account data (only if you choose to connect Spotify): your Spotify user identity, used solely to create a playlist in your account. See Section 4.

3. How we use it

We use your order details to create and deliver your setlist and to email you when it is ready. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Spotify integration

When you click "Take it to go → Spotify" on a finished set, we ask you to authorize Setbaker through Spotify's official OAuth login. With your permission we:

  • Read your Spotify profile identity to know which account to create the playlist in.
  • Create a private playlist in your account and add the tracks of that setlist to it (scopes: playlist-modify-private, playlist-modify-public, ugc-image-upload for the cover image).

The Spotify access token is used transiently to perform this single action and is not stored on our servers. We never post to your account beyond the playlist you explicitly create, and we do not read your listening history, saved library, or friends. You can revoke Setbaker's access at any time at spotify.com → Account → Apps. Your use of Spotify remains governed by Spotify's own Privacy Policy.

5. Storage & retention

Order data is stored on our own server database and kept only as long as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

6. Your rights & contact

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. To exercise any of these, or to disconnect Spotify, contact us at:
